This class will teach the basic commands “Sit”, “Down”, “Come”, “Stay”, “Leave it” (“off”), and “Wait at doors” as well as teaching the dogs to walk on a loose leash, greet people and other dogs politely, and allow physical handling. We’ll train them using voice commands, hand signals, lures and leashes, and we’ll introduce the training clicker. All your questions about dog behavior will be answered, and dogs will get some chances to socialize — one of the most important factors for a well-behaved, happy dog. Dog Friendly and People Friendly Dogs Only.

The class will share local resources, websites, and first hand stories to give you the confidence to try this fun hobby! This class will discuss the location of your hen house, chicken safety and security against predators, food and other topics. Raising backyard chickens is a fun activity for the whole family!
