Dodgeball

Beat the winter blues with an afternoon of your favorite playground game! Dodgeball is now safe and more enjoyable with rubber coated foam balls and safety conscious rules. Dodgeball promotes social enjoyment and teamwork. We’ll learn about strategy and cooperation, which are more valuable factors in dodgeball than athletic skill and individual competitiveness. Anyone can play! All you need to bring is enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

NEW! Fall Cooking Series
Instructor: Lauren Wagner
Your child will have the opportunity to learn basic cooking skills such as measuring, chopping, grating and following a recipe using the ingredients provided in class. A variety of techniques, tools and methods will be used to create a delicious menu. Each class your child will bring home recipes and treats to share with family and friends! All supplies are provided. Please notify the recreation staff if your child has specific food allergies.

Young Actors Studio
Instructor: Curt “Moose” Jackson
Young Actors Studio is designed for the beginning to intermediate student who is interested in the fun and exciting world of acting. This program helps students make creative choices, develop self-confi dence, cooperation skills and communication skills all in a safe and fun environment. The instructor, Moose, takes great pride in providing an emotionally safe, creative and enjoyable atmosphere while teaching the practical skills of performing on stage. At the end of the 10 week program the students will put on an entertaining 30 minute variety show for family and friends.

Hoopsters Basketball Clinic

Back by popular demand, Hoopsters Basketball Clinic is designed for the beginning to intermediate player. Boys and girls are grouped according to age and ability. Our experienced coach will teach the skills and strategies of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. The clinics will emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play. Games will be played during the second half of the class so participants can practice playing fundamentals. Equipment will be provided for all participants.

This class is for beginning to intermediate artists who would like to learn some basic techniques of drawing. Students will use a variety of tools and drawing medium including chalk, pencil, pastels, etc. Learn about lines, blending colors, shadow & 3-D effects, sketching and more! Everyone will create an art portfolio to display their work.

Jamie “Juju” Aberegg is a graphic designer and illustrator who has taught art/crafts classes with Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation for three years. She creates her own line of greeting cards and has illustrated children’s music books. Her experience also includes airbrushing t-shirts and surfboards, ceramics and mural painting/design in San Francisco.
Multi-Sports Clinic
Instructors: Scott Ohlendorf
The Multi-Sport Clinic is designed for the beginner and intermediate participant who wants to explore a wide variety of sports. Our qualified instructors will teach the fundamental skills and strategies of both traditional and non-traditional sports. A new sport will be taught each week and at the conclusion of the clinic participants will have a chance to show off their newly acquired skills in an obstacle course designed around all sports taught during the session. Equipment will be provided for all participants.
Session 1 (9/15 - 10/13) includes flag football, basketball, street hockey and ultimate frisbee. Session 2 (10/20 - 11/17) includes soccer, volleyball, lacrosse and kickball.

Intermediate Chess

Learn intermediate and advanced strategies while practicing the fundamentals. Flag Football Clinic

Designed for basic to intermediate players. Students will learn the fundamental skills and strategies of passing, catching, kicking, punting, offensive and defensive strategies, and rules of football in a fun environment. The first half of each class will focus on teaching a new concept and the second half will be spent demonstrating the concept in a game setting.
