Priority Registration Forms for Studio Ballet

The Studio Dance Member Program

Priority registration for students who wish to become Studio Dance Members is currently in progress for the 2010-2011 school year. The cost to become a Studio Dance Member is a $55 per student, non-refundable fee. Your child's space in the class(es) you select is reserved for all remaining sessions offered this year, provided you pay the session fees at least two weeks before the session start date. To become a Studio Dance Member please print out and complete the Studio Member Priority Registration form. Once you have completed the form you may fax, mail or drop off the form to the recreation office.

Open Enrollment

Students who do not become Studio Dance Members may register on the first day of registration. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, with priority always being given to Studio Members.

Cancellation/Refund Policy/Class Make-ups

Ballet sessions are scheduled in a trimester format, Studio members are not obliged to pay for all three sessions should you decide to quit at the conclusion of a session. The Studio Dance program follows the organization refund policy, however the $55 member registration fee is non-refundable.

Performance Information/Fees

The class fees for this session include a $55 performance fee which helps defray the direct costs of the costumes, staff and administrative time associated with producing the show. Dress rehearsals will be on Wednesday and/or Thursday, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2, respectively. The performance is scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 4.

All classes are located at the Belvedere Community Center.

Ballet Class Attire

Girls
Hair must be up in a bun. No jewelry. Pink leotard, tights & shoes.
Junior & Technique: Black leotard, tights & shoes.

Boys
All levels: White t-shirt, black tights, white socks & black shoes.

First Steps
Age 3

This class introduces your tiny dancer to creative movement and expression. Your child will develop coordination, large motor skills and rhythm.

Pre-Ballet
Age 4

Gives children a love of dance and movement and a strong foundation for entry into ballet and other dance arts. Previous dance class experience is strongly suggested.

Elementary Ballet

Emphasis on beginning ballet technique and positions. This class will also develop memorization of routines and counting music.

Intro To Ballet
Ages 6-8

This new class is for the older child who is interested in learning ballet for the first time. Introduces the fundamentals of ballet with emphasis on beginning ballet technique and positions. No previous ballet experience necessary.

Ballet Instructor Profiles

Erica Jeffery
Erica has worked with Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation as a ballet instructor/program coordinator since 2003. She is a graduate of Indiana University with dual majors in Ballet & Conflict Resolution. She dances for the Ballet Counterpointe Repertory and has danced in numerous professional productions. She has taught for Marin Dance Theatre, Roco and Marin Ballet. Currently, Erica is our lead dance instructor and ballet program coordinator assisting in the production of the ballet performances each spring and fall.

Kerstin Stuart
New to the Bay area, Kerstin Stuart currently works as a choreographer, dancer and instructor. She holds a BA in Dance from UC Santa Barbara and has studied with Joe Goode. Kerstin has performed with Cid Pearlman, Stephanie Nugent, Karl Schaffer, Fran Spector Atkins, Monterey Dance Collective and 3Cities3Choreograhers tour. She has been teaching K-Adult for over 10 years and loves sharing dance with everyone!

Lily Oglesby
Lily has studied dance for over twenty years. She studied ballet intensively at Milwaukee Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle and at Wesleyan University, where she also branched out into many other dance forms (West African, jazz, Latin and modern). She continues to study and perform around the Bay. Lily has taught theater and dance in the Bay Area for over 8 years at several public and private schools (pre-school through high school) and in the Young Conservatory at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.

Bryce Murray
“Love of dance” is an understatement when you’ve grown up dancing 40+ hours per week and spent the past several years learning, instructing and choreographing! Bryce’s background consists of instructing children and young adults in a variety of dance including ballet, liturgical, ballroom, swing, and Latin.
