Priority Registration Forms for Studio Ballet

The Studio Dance Member Program

Priority registration for students who wish to become Studio Dance Members is currently in progress for the 2012-2013 school year. The cost to become a Studio Dance Member is a $55 per student, non-refundable fee. Your child's space in the class(es) you select is reserved for all remaining sessions offered this year, provided you pay the session fees at least two weeks before the session start date. To become a Studio Dance Member please print out and complete the Studio Member Priority Registration form. Once you have completed the form you may fax, mail or drop off the form to the recreation office.

Open Enrollment

Students who do not become Studio Dance Members may register on the first day of registration. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, with priority always being given to Studio Members.

Cancellation/Refund Policy/Class Make-ups

Ballet sessions are scheduled in a trimester format. Studio members are not obliged to pay for all three sessions should they decide to cancel at the  conclusion of a session. However the recreation office must be notified of the cancellation prior to the next session of classes beginning. The Studio
Dance program follows the recreation refund policy. The $55 member registration fee is non-refundable.

Performance Information/Fees

The class fees for this session include a $55 performance fee which helps defray the direct costs of the costumes, staff and administrative time associated with producing the show. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday & Thursday, Nov. 28 & 29. The performance is scheduled on Saturday, Dec 1st.

All classes are located at the Belvedere Community Center.

Ballet Class Attire

Girls
Hair must be up in a bun. No jewelry. Pink leotard, tights & shoes.
Junior & Technique: Black leotard, tights & shoes.

First Steps
Age 3

This class introduces your tiny dancer to creative movement and expression. Your child will develop coordination, large motor skills and rhythm.

Ballet Instructor Profiles

Lily Oglesby
Lily has studied dance for over twenty years. She studied ballet intensively at Milwaukee Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle and at Wesleyan University, where she also branched out into many other dance forms (West African, jazz, Latin and modern). She continues to study and perform around the Bay. Lily has taught theater and dance in the Bay Area for over 8 years at several public and private schools (pre-school through high school) and in the Young Conservatory at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.

Blair Brown
Blair studied at Loyola Marymount University where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Dance, Cum Laude. While at LMU she participated in a community dance project through the LMU dance department as well as the program DanceSmart, where she led workshops and classes in creative movement to kindergarteners and middle school students. Blair spent a semester studying at the Laban Conservatory in London, where she was chosen to be part of a piece choreographed by Gary Lambert. Blair has a great interest in community dance and dance education. She is currently a member of the Natasha Carlitz Dance Ensemble.
